Aflatoxin risk means Kroger recalls pet food
Aflatoxin is a toxin produced by Aspergillus fungus. Usually the fungus grows in cereal grains, such as corn. Aflatoxin can be found in many foods, such as peanut butter, but becomes dangerous when consumed in large doses. When consumed by pets, Aflatoxin can cause liver disease, which is not directly treatable. If you have any of the pet foods recalled by Kroger, you can return it to the store where you purchased it.
